C2K7 - Full Speed Ahead

Hackathon 2007 is underway in Calgary. Among those hacking are deraadt, beck, krw, todd, ray, thib, drahn, art, tom, jdixon, robert, jcs, kettenis, claudio, reyk, naddy, cnst, rui , jason, ckuethe, mjc, jmc, dlg, tedu, gwk, pyr, uwe, grange, aanriot, niallo, mcbride, pedro, matthieu, mbalmer, mpf, grunk and ajacoutot. marco is expected on Monday. (I'm sure I missed at least somebody, but from where I'm sitting in MD, it's hard to see everyone)

So far, work has included faster TLB shootdown [more info], dynamic buffer cache, several ports updates, the beginning of a new network interface driver - che(4), xenocara improvements, opencvs work, usb macro cleanup, bio, mount_vnd, and general code and man page fixes. There have even been a lot of continued pkg_* tools updates with espie being there in spirit.

We've even seen the first pictures posted. [Edit: Better picture link]

Stay tuned to the commit logs (and undeadly) for more hackathon-goodness as it happens. I'm sure, as usual, we can expect big things!

    This deserves a post unto itself "double pf performance" As someone who supports several PF bridge configurations this is great news. This along with the work pyr@ is doing with hoststated and hoststatectl is awesome for people who use OpenBSD as enterprise firewalls.

    Can you buy one of those puffy laptop stickers?? I want one... or is this only for the C2K7 hackers... because if so it will be a long time till I am good enough to code with them... if ever :(

      Not really, it just contained some code that it was easier to remove than to try to fix.
