Hardware Needed Badly in Calgary Basement

Contributed by tbert on from the running-out-of-juice dept.

Theo deRaadt(deraadt@) wrote to misc@ asking for hardware:

If anyone in Calgary has a battery for a Dell Perc 6/i RAID controller available, we urgently need one.

That's a Dell RAID card, they are the 3.7V 7A batteries with the multicoloured wire.

(Urgently, as in I can't find anyone to get us one within 2 weeks; and the order placed a week ago still is not here).

Thanks.

Update:

Since this is an urgent request, we should stress that there is a strong preference for a local donor (i.e. in the Calgary area). If you think you can deliver a battery on very short notice, please contact Theo!

Update: Thanks to a kind donation to OpenBSD Theo received the needed battery.

    Dear Theo,

We could donate you a Perc 5/i inclusiv the Battery, RAM and cables.
The BBU of a Perc 5/i is compatible with a Perc 6/i and we would donate you the (working) whole Perc 5/i controler as well.

Please send me an e-Mail if you still need this piece of Hardware.

      Hi,

I don't think Theo follows undeadly.org as that was sent to the misc@ mailing list and posted by user tbert.

If you can though, you may want to see http://www.openbsd.org/donations.html for how to donate to him. You'd be doing everyone a favour too in the long run. =)

      Regards,
