5.3 -beta tagged, it's snapshots testing time again!

welcome to 5.3-BETA

This means of course that the snapshots that will land on your friendly local mirror really soon now (look for install sets with 53 in the file names) is as close as we get to a live preview of the upcoming 5.3 release. As always, plus.html has a summary of changes (lots of goodies) since the last release.

Time to test, people! Do note that package builds take longer, so the packages may not be completely synced right away when the *53.tgz sets hit your mirror.
