Contributed by merdely on from the hey,-free-tutorial dept.

As Peter Hansteen wrote on misc@:

At 10:00, February 20th, 2008 at the University of Latvia's Linux Center, Raina Blvd. 19, Riga, Peter Hansteen will be giving a full day PF tutorial, loosely based on his new book, "The Book of PF".

NOTE: The tutorial itself is free of charge, but for practical purposes we ask you to sign up for the session by sending an email with the subject "February 20th PF tutorial", preferably with the names of the people who plan to attend or at least the number of persons, to riga-reg@bsdly.net by February 19th.

Bring your laptop if you have one, slides will be available online shortly after the session.

I agree, this would be great to see and possibly could even be used for PR. I just got the book and have almost finished it. It simplifies a pretty ambiguous subject pretty well.

It now looks like we will be doing a video recording of the session. The exact how and when of publishing the result are still a bit fuzzy, but watch the usual spaces.

If anybody's interested in having some fun after (before?) the event, please contact me via e-mail. She's a friendly city, but picky in making her friends. --kk

    Hello all,

I am organizing this event and am happy to help anyone with travel plans. If a large group is planning to come, I can arrange for an apartment or hostel.

    See you in Riga.

I am very tempted, looking at the Riga airlines website, one can fly for about EUR 129 one way.

The only problem I see it's a bit close to FOSDEM in Brussels and I really need to be home for that...

Correction, the largest city in Sweden until 1710. My bad.

None the less, there is more to Riga than alcohol and girls.
