print/fontforge, a Font Editor

Contributed by mbalmer on from the scribble-scribble dept.

Matt Jibson and Matthias Kilian have been working on FontForge, a font editor that is now in our ports tree:

FontForge is an outline font editor that lets you create your own PostScript, TrueType, OpenType, CID-keyed, Multi-Master, CFF, SVG and bitmap (BDF) fonts, or edit existing ones. It also lets you convert one format to another. FontForge has support for many Macintosh font formats.

See http://fontforge.sourceforge.net/ for details on FontForge.

And steven@ actually found gazillions of bugs and portability problems. I'd like to thank Steven for patience and support.

Are all the bugfixes being accepted back into the source project?

That's great -- you've to subscribe to their mailinglists to report bugs, else all you get is a "awaits approval" mail (which wasn't approved within two days).
