Here's the commit message:
Display logical disk status in sysctl. Now one can use sensorsd to monitor disks on ami. Ex.: hw.sensors.0=sd2, logical disk, WARNING, drive, degraded
ami support just keeps getting better!

What controller you might ask; one supported by ami(4) ofcourse :)

But... is it so that these sensors work for Adaptec aac in 3.9 but not ami?
Ask as I earlier built a 3.9 release CD from CVS with aac support. I run this 3.9 release with smp kernel in production on a Dell 2450 server (dual PIII 700). It seems like this 3.9 release can recognize no less than 29 hw sensors on this server. And the disk status sensors are some of them.
Or... does this work only because of the fact that the aac card is built in on the Dell motherboard? Maybe it's another thing with stand alone cards (I am not a guru on the sensors framework).
I Only use aac as I have two of these Dell servers on the shelf...

What the hell are you talking about? How did you miss the "for Monitoring ami"? It only works on ami cards, aac is totally irrelivant.

You mean the status of the disk enclosure(s)? Using ses or safte? That has nothing to do with logical drives on the RAID controller.

Dude. Cut the guy a little slack... his english doesn't seem so good.
Of course, if he's a native english speaker and he still writes like this, then maybe flaming away is an okay option. :-)

ami and aac are not english. It doesn't matter what language(s) you speak, there is no reason to be asking such a dumb question.
