OpenBSD 3.9 CDs are arriving in Europe

Contributed by marco on from the wim-is-fast dept.

Nico Meijer wrote: Once again, kudos and hats off to Wim! Pre-ordered 3.9 cds and T-shirt have started arriving today. Man, this guy is fast!

Well, what can one say? Packaging is flawless (foam envelope wrapped in the T; nice...), delivery speedy thanks to UPS and the product itself lives up to its promise. Beautiful artwork, high quality T-shirt.

Now, to find the time to upgrade and enjoy the best of the package... ;-)

It's hard to find so much quality at this unbelievably low price these days!

If you haven't done so yet, please send in your orders; you won't be disappointed.

[ed.] As usual this was handled on a first-order first-ship basis.

PS: somebody sent in this one, wouldn't we all want to know who this is?

I have to get mine shipped to the middle of the pacific ocean.
That means an extra two or more weeks, wish I wasn't so impatiant.

As I already have a computer room littered with OBSD install CD's I am currious about the lanyard displayed in the picture above.

All of my previous orders have been through the OpenBSD.org web order form. Google and my own searching through the OBSD site seem to indicate that the only place to order the lanyard is from http://kd85.com/notforsale.html

Is this the case or am I missing another ordering option? The KD85.com goes out of its way to indicate the countries it ships to and Canada is not one of them.

I got mine by showing up at one of our Happy Hacking evenings 8-)

It seems that Wim sponsored them at EuroBSDCon (http://www.eurobsdcon.org/sponsoring.php) and one of the FreeBSD users thought I might have a use for it.

This is the offical european outlet. Wim has some stuff the Canadian/USA store doesnt have. So purchase away.

It's correct, we are the only ones that have them.

You can order them from https://kd85.com/notforsale.html

We do ship any items on that page to Canada or US, as all on that page is only available from us. Canada en USA are in the list of countries.

I think I borked the quote, but couldn't resist poking a little fun at the photo. I wonder which state it is? Spain, France, Sweden, ...?

    It's a joke! Laugh!

The picture is hosted on the webspace of a Telenet user (which are on the server users.telenet.be). Telenet is Belgium's largest cable internet access provider (amongst other things), so this picture was probably also taken in Belgium.

Wel, maybe that is just what we want you to believe.

it's true that it's hosted at Telenet Belgium but that might be just because they have free bandwidth ;-)

Sorry, if it would be Theo, the Tshirt would have to be a size smaller ;-)

(As Theo was the first one to see the CDs, I don't think the picture of him would be relevant in this discussion)

Maybe we all could collect more money if we go (dressed like Theo (at least I think it`s him)) to some banks and ask for donations?

But the Cisco HQ would be neat too. ;-)))

    *can YOU hear the news...?*

"An unknown number of Developers stormed the CISCO/IBM HQ today to disassemble every device wich uses OpenSSH. Experts said they`re member of "OpenBSD", a radical group related to the international opperating "OpenSOurce"-Scene. Employers said they got shocked as they got informed that OpenSSH wasn`t made by their company.
Emergency physicians took most of them to the local hospitals.

As special police units tried to storm the CISCO/IBM HQ the Developers said they`ll free every secret information by not developing OpenSSH anymore. The special units where called back by President Bush who fears that secret informations could go pupplic like in the Bosnia-War as NATO and US military send secret informations over satelits in plain.

Bush also guaranteed that the developers wont get jailed as long as they keep up hacking on OpenBSD and OpenSSH. "Because they do a lot for the national security" Bush said later.

On a special Meeting of the UNO later this week Bush plans to say sorry for all the american companies who simply do not give anything back to peoples who keep the national security as high as possible.

The DARPA Chief got fired after Bush got informed that the DARPA rejected a donation even cryptography saved a lot of lifes during Iraq-War."

Ok... just a crazy dream.. but sometimes such dreams come true. ;-)

I suppose this is a current snapshot, as 3.9 is only to be released in a few weeks?
