Pre-Orders are Up for 3.9! Buy stuff!!!!

Contributed by Bob Beck on from the order-now-receive-early dept.

Pre-orders are up for 3.9, so you can all whip out your plastic
and support the project.

The artwork theme this time is a really cool "attack of the binary blob" with a nifty "Stop BLOB!" shirt, aimed against the increasing proliferation of vendor supplied unmaintainable inscrutable binary blob drivers. Wear yours with pride and stick your favorite assinine vendor logo on the back in the blob (now where is my nvidia swag).

If I understand well, the blob logo is in the back of the shirt?

Well, I ordered the CD and shirt combo as always. But I'd really like to know if the logo is in the back or not. I would of course prefer it to be in the back ;)

http://www.openbsd.org/tshirts.html#25 says the shirt is dark blue. https://https.openbsd.org/cgi-bin/order says the shirt is black.

This has been fixed. The 3.9 shirt is dark blue, not black.

For donations > EUR 300 I'm willing to do a custom run in black, of course ;-)

Well, Theo said a few days back that pre-orders would be up real soon.

Today when I came back from lunch (Sydney, Australia time) I remembered to go to openbsd.org and look. Lo and behold an order form for 3.9.

Ordered 2 CD sets and a shirt. Austin's confirmation of order receipt was timestamped Tue, 7 Mar 2006 19:53 -0700 - shortly after my order placed around 1400 Wed, 8 Mar +1100.

Theo's message to misc@ announcing that orders were open was timestamped at 07 Mar 2006 20:23:17 -0700

Back to the future! Just 30 minutes ahead of the message. OpenBSD good vibes!

Now playing with figuring out which build # in the snaps I've been testing is the one on the CDs and hungrily waiting for my six-monthly fix.

All the testing I've done has resulted in nothing to report. As usual the team has done very well. A big Thank You to all devs and testers who did the work.

hey, come on Wim, I ordered a 3.9 CD before the pre-orders were available :). (well, of course, I must admit I cheated on this one :))

True, but I was just refering to those placing the orders on the https://https.openbsd.org/cgi-bin/order.eu site, not those calling me up and emailing me. Usual suspects please do not apply ;-)

Glad to say I'm in for 3.9, plus I finally get the chance to replace the "So Long and Thanks..." shirt my ex-girlfriend got during the break-up.

Classic story, boy meets girl, girl lures boy into apartment, eight months later, boy forgets to grab t-shirt on his way out the door. You know how it goes.
