I think noone will have a review yet since it's going to be released on March 15, 2004. But it looks interesting ;-)

no, people have reviewed it (ie tech reviewers during the manuscript publication). wether or not they can comment is another story.

Oh no, it's a SAMS book. Be ready for TCP/IP clearly explained with baking and cake analogies. Be ready to have transparent bridging explained in a very transparent way, meaning probably NOT covered, or edited out.

Why is it that O'reilly has not covered the topic, and the only books on the topic are "out of print"?

I am not an O'reilly zealot, I would except 'new riders', or 'wiley'. I would of course prefer O'reilly or new riders.

Anyone know of a reasonably up-to-date, decent publication with the required subject matter?

O'reilly all the way or Wiley. New riders from my personal experiences seem to have too much bloat.

Don't foget Adison Wesley. They have a few gems as well, such as Stevens.

I can find information on Bruce Potter (one of the 3 contributors) however I am unable to find information or previous publications of the other 2 contributors.

Anyone know more information about the other 2 contributors?

      Bruce Potter also contributed to:
      802.11 Security
      &
      Mac OS X Security

Perhaps other titles, however Amazon may search 'too' deeply into the books to give a 'perfect' search IMHO.

        Why is that relevant?

uh, because they helped to write the book. It would be nice to see what kind of writing style they have and what topics they have credible experience with.

But I really guess that isn't relevant when considering a 30+ dollar book for some. Enjoy your carrot cake.

I agree 100%. I never buy SAMS again.
