New Book: Building Firewalls with OpenBSD and PF

Contributed by Dengue on from the state-to-state dept.

Jacek Artymiak writes : "devguide.net is taking orders for my first OpenBSD book, "Building Firewalls with OpenBSD and PF". It was meant to be a part of the OpenBSD Gazetteer, but the Gazetter has grown so much that I had to split the material into two separate books.

Is it published and printed now or it will be in a few months like the Absolute OpenBSD one?

I'd like to get my hands on this one too; mainly just for the OpenBSD name on it as lame as that may sound.

I signed the first batch on Monday, so it is real. There is a delay in shipping as devguide.net is swamped with orders and they are busy stuffing those bubble-wrap envelopes with copies of Building Firewalls with OpenBSD and PF. Remeber that books ship from Poland so some delay is inevitable.

I just ordered a copy, not simply because the subject material is of interest to me, although it is. I didn't order it because I want to support authors writing OpenBSD-specific books either, because I guarantee, I didn't order the other one that came out a month ago, and probably never will. I ordered this one because it looks extremely well put together and because the author is donating part of the proceeds to the OpenBSD project. I definitely wil continue to encourage that kind of support. I hope the rest of you feel the same.
