dont know about the original poster, but my gripes with cafepress are mostly quality.
-
for their clothes, they use industrial iron-on and the resultant t-shirt is stiffer than a screen print would be.
-
the colour calibration for their posters and mugs is horrendous - i'm working on some posters (geeky ones) but the greys in one poster are reddish and the greys in the next print are greenish - the same grey, but they manage to print them quite different.
-
they must convert everything to jpg's or some other lossy format since a high res lossless image shows artifacts in the final print- horrible for text as it isn't as sharp as it should be.
- Be careful uploading an image over 50megs, or an image that takes longer than 30 minutes to upload (they have size limits somewhere around 50mb and their cookies time out after 30 minutes - click reload in a separate page to workaround). this should only affect you if you're working on large stuff, like 36x24 posters at 300dpi
the t-shirt is from my experience a year ago (i hate iron on and can screen print myself so i dont use them for clothes) and the posters/mugs are from my experience a week ago.in terms of organization they are great - shipping, printing, charging are all done speedily (and they ship their posters well-protected, a *very* big deal), but i wish they'd show a bit more care for quality of printing.

It just makes little sense for me to get a CD. Maybe I'll burn a copy to look at, but I've just never made good use of a set of CD.
Now, a proper union mount to patch on would be cool, and I finally got a CDROM on the firewall...

Well, a union job ...
That will take a while.

i donated $10 when i bought 2.4 and my name appeared soon afterwards. i was surprised since i really didnt *do* anything. the use i have gotten out of OpenBSD is far beyond any money i will ever be able to donate, and even if my name didnt appear, and even though i wont get any more recognition, i still donate. It's the least i can do and as has been mentioned before, i'm thanking them by donating. the reverse is not necessary. Hell, by not thanking me they are eliminating the possibility of an endless recursive loop.

And when I donated recently, the person asked whether I wanted to be on the page. Twice.

i think one of the older releases (2.5 maybe?) came with a blowfish sticker sized right for a case badge. 2.6 came with some very nice "badge" stickers, the same kind the daemon cop is holding up, and one of those stickers was the right size (i had one on my phone for a bit).
if you order anything from daemonnews they send a bunch of freebsd stickers, many of which are case badge size. for a homemmade badge, cut out the daemon w/ an exacto knife, cut a 1 inch square of cd, and put the sticker on the cd (so the shiny side will be facing outwards).

I really want an OpenBSD hat myself.
My FreeBSD hat is ok, but I wanna spread some OpenBSD luvin....
By Anonymous Coward () on
That's what I want. Oh, and a garage to put it in, too. Yep. That's it. That's all I really need.

isn't fish-flavoured the only one supported?

Don't worry, I ordered the stuff myself as well, and if it's not right, I can make a second revision. Cafepress is also pretty good about returns I believe.

I think we should be told.
