OpenBSD 5.7 has been released. The brand new 5.7 subdirectory should now be available and filled up on all relevant mirrors for those of you who have yet to receive your CD orders.
The release announcement, posted on project mailing lists earlier today, and the release home page both mention some highlights of the new release, while the complete changelog for the release is available on the OpenBSD website.
While you are too late to be the first to preorder a shiny OpenBSD release CD set, you can order one of your own, as well as a very cool 5.7-release poster.

Emails to the OpenBSD Store looking for status updates went unanswered, unfortunately.

I'm in the same boat, albeit it in Australia.

I received no response to a couple of emails I sent asking if payment was received (I paid by PayPal, which required manual entry of an order number.)

I'm in the Midwestern area, and haven't seen my set, either. People on misc@ have already mentioned this, as well. I wonder if there have been production delays? I doubt that it's anything serious.

Whatever has been the cause of the delays, we should have been informed about them. I have pre-ordered the CD set on the day of the announcement so that it is here pronto - 5.6 arrived days ahead of the release day.
I don't mind waiting if there's a delay - as long as I am being kept in the loop, I don't mind. What I don't like is being kept in the dark.

P.S. I'm in the UK so the "Store" is "just around the corner".

And here it is, straight from the horse's mouth:

Those who pre-ordered, should have probably been emailed individually by the "Store". Not much of a consolation but it's better than no update at all, I guess :^)

The new store still sucks. Lost a password and haven't really been able to order. Waste of time due to their crazy password reset shenanigans.

Works better for me this year - it accepted my card that it rejected last year, and it is also clearer about donations - not accepted via the store.
I wanted to put an note on the order about only sending 1/2 my order - don't need all the physical CD sets. Couldn't see anywhere to do that, but have emailed.
Otherwise - it worked.

I don't doubt you, but your report is not helpful. Please elaborate. Where is it said that nginx is in the base install? I briefly looked at a few pages and didn't see that.

I'm missing the example. Or is it not on the release announcement page?

Release announcement clearly says:
"nginx has been removed from base -- use the package if you need it."
There is also this article:

From the release announcement:
"nginx has been removed from base -- use the package if you need it."
Later in the announcement:
"Note: some of the most popular ports, e.g., the nginx web server and
several X applications, come standard with OpenBSD."
It should not be hard to find. Just use whatever tool you wish to search
for "nginx."

First off thanks for the great work all the developers have done! It's not that bad that the CD's are delayed it just means that I ftp installed and put more load on the FTP servers. I have upgraded 3 computers here at home to 5.7 this holiday in Germany, I have one more to go. I want to give a caution to others that use chrome. Back up your bookmarks before upgrading this port. I found my bookmarks did not survive the upgrade. Also my fluxbox had issues with chrome in that it couldn't move the window, so I changed to kde4, which looks lovely btw. My computer has the muscle to run kde4 fortunately.
Cheers,
-peter
