"Have you ever wanted to know what's really going on in your network?", Peter Hansteen asks in his most recent coloumn, Yes, You Too Can Be An Evil Network Overlord - On The Cheap With OpenBSD, pflow And nfsen,. He goes on to explain how to use your OpenBSD tools (mostly in the base system, the rest available through one pkg_add invocation) to see the hidden life of your network.

It's all easier with OpenBSD, but with some variations the tools Peter mentions will work on any unixlike system.
