I'm sure if it's a major secure risk a patch will be available in -stable..
4.1 shipped with several fault as well IIRC.. it can't be prevented.. always follow stable!

Of course it's just I fear it may gets "lost" during time and not get tagged for 4.2.
In "my" Oppinion such things should get tagged imedietly even if the CDs didn't shiped yet to reduce the waiting time.
Of course it's no fault of OpenBSD nor the Team, such things simply happen.
Just wanted to mention it asap (same for the Ports but that's no whining thread)

http://www.openbsd.org/items.html#42 also refers to X.Org 6.9.0, even though http://www.openbsd.org/42.html refers to Xenocara and X.Org 7.2.
I also noticed that Gnome, GNUstep and Xfce joined KDE in the list of highlighted packages. I should stop reading http://www.openbsd.org/42.html now; I have to remind myself that I will not be running OpenBSD 4.2 until November!

I actually bought that single twenty years ago in a branch of Woolworths in Upminster, Essex. IIRC I was wearing a roll-neck sweater at the time...

As they say on slashdot: I run Debian you insensitive clod !
The Debian friends at Ubuntu are working on getting some projects to have there release-time more lined up.
I presonally believe in 'release when it is ready' and I'm not sure how many projects will commit to a half-year release cycle or if they can stick to it.
(yes I know OpenBSD does)

And as they say on slashdot "Netcraft Confirms it. Debian is Dying"
All the world runs Red Hat.
Perhaps you should take your trolling elsewhere on the debian lists, or
onto slashdot where it just melds in with all the rest ;)

as every project keeps a different schedule, waiting for them all to line up is harder to predict than the alignments of planets. That only becomes harder if they all "release when ready".

The other question would be if at the current rate 4.3 is expected to include WPA and/or 802.11N support?
And as a candy, really, what's up with the new TRM_VERSION? What new tricks will OpenBSD be able to perform now? I can guess a lot of new multirouting. But which exactly, I'd love to know.

In my opinion, this release doesn't feature a very nice artwork. Altough it is very colorful it doesn't have that comic-feel past releases artwork had. I presume the author isn't the same one as in previous releases.
Nevertheless, another great stuff from OpenBSD factory !

You're right, VAT will be added after when you proceed the checkout so the diffence between internationnal and europe is 31.4% plus taxes.

Yeah, but just think, you get roads, health care, education, and
pensions and the like..
Meanwhile the americans can save all that money to put it in the bank for retirement, as the U.S. dollar will be worth so much more after another surge in iraq is successful..
Hint to Europeans - that green grass over the fence... They've been painting it for almost 8 years now. ;)

No, VAT is included in the listed price and is not added when you proceed to the checkout.
VAT is 21% here (Belgium)

You're right for the VAT.
So what is your answer to the question : why 31.4% more for European people
Maybe :
The distribution in North Amercia is made by non profit people
and the distribution in Europe is made by a "company" ?
You can answer : VAT + shipment from North America to Netherland + my profit which I can understand

I really don't grok your math.
First of all you need to understand that we don't buy the CDs from Canada in $US but $CAD. Currencies fluctuate. Now the $US seems to be favourable for us but I did not hear any of you complain when it was the reverse two years ago.
So right now keeping in account the current exchange rate and banking costs + 21% VAT, it's EUR 45.20 for the CD, without the shipping and insurance. Shipping roughly adds about EUR 1. So that is EUR 46.20 for a CD.
Now, how is that 31.4% more than the $US price? Isn't that 8%?
Also, the Tshirts are not from the US or Canada, they are made here in Europe, so I can set the price as I see fair.
Now, if each time the currencies fluctate, I have to change the price to EUR 47 or EUR 48, then I have to get all our resellers to change the prices as wel. And have fun cashing money and giving change for a number like EUR 47 ;-). That is why we keep round prices, it makes life easy for everybody. So that is why we charge EUR 50 for a 3CDset in a DVD package.
Seriously, if you want to talk profit, check out where all the money went... look up our accounting info at National Bank Belgium (it's public info), last year on a 5 digit turnover, we made EUR 5k profit.

There's VAT on tshirts too though - it's not just VAT. Does Canada have a sales tax? Is it the saem on CDs and tshirts?

For example there is no VAT on children's tshirts in the UK.

I pulled OpenCVS from cvs yesterday to play with it. I'd say it's usable for small projects, but it couldn't update -STABLE. It through back a lot of errors about tags, but never mentioned anything else.
Honestly I'd like to see more status updates for it, as I've become increasingly interested in it's development.

Got the 4.2 shirt as well. Looks cool.
Any seen the 4.1 shirt, in both blue or greenish, which is best? Considering ordering with 4.3.
Hats or jackets would be cool, but low volume and getting deals isn't easy.
Thanks again to Theo and OpenBSD team for yet another release!

I have the 4.1 shirt in dark blue, it looks very nice IMHO, although I prefer black shirts. I also love the slogan in front, I'd like it if more shirts would have the large graphics in front instead of the back.

There *are* hats and jackets! Consider the picture album and the order form at KD85.com.
