I have employers prod my resume for 'linux', and I explain to them that its not really something I work well with, and if thats what they are seeking they may have the wrong person. I explain that at a certain point, the only roadblocks between a problem and solving a problem, is good documentation. Linux fails miserably at this, and I'd really rather not have an employer waste company money on google research.
Have only had one interviewer (Dug Song's snake oil company) know what to make of BSD in my resume, but I failed the interview because I didn't know enough IT Acronyms, or I hit the HR firewall. I'm doing an internship for evening work, and using bsd to solve some problems. I just refer to it as unix so as not bring the subject up at all. This employer prefers to use the "C Panel variant" of linux, lolzzzz guhh huh huh. drool.
