Hiroaki Etoh to speak at PacSec.jp on ProPolice

Contributed by grey on from the help change the bad news to good dept.

The pacsec.jp/core04 conference is coming soon on November 11th & 12th in Tokyo at the Royal Park hotel. Hiroaki Etoh (etoh@) will be speaking on Stack Protection Systems, notably ProPolice.

This conference is put on by the same individuals responsible for the outstanding CanSecWest security conference, and if that's any indication it should be an excellent learning opportunity in a great setting. In the past, pacsec.jp has been host to Theo de Raadt and Jun-ichiro itojun Hagino as well.

There was a misunderstanding on the timing of the piece. A separate announcement will be made at a later date. Sorry about any confusion, we'll clear things up formally ASAP.

Speaking of which... Any plans on porting NDISulator (whatever it's called in FreeBSD 5.x) to OpenBSD?

that is way above and beyond a mostly free driver that requires some firmware to work. that's "you don't get to know anything about how it works". nor can you distribute it.

Why NDIS? I really think that some people simply do not get it. Make it open! Set it free. Anything else is inferior and rediculous. -T.

I think you mis-understood. I don't mean this as a replacement... Hell no. Just that it made me think, it would be neat to see the NDISulator ported to OpenBSD from FreeBSD.
