OpenBSD 5.5 preorders have been enabled

Contributed by weerd on from the high-five-dot-five dept.

OpenBSD 5.5 preorders have been enabled on the ordering page.

With this commit, Theo de Raadt (deraadt@) enabled pre-orders for the upcoming release:

Module name:	www
Changes by:	deraadt@cvs.openbsd.org	2014/03/26 20:09:10

Modified files:
	. : errata55.html index.html older.html orders.html

Log message:
activate 5.5 pre-orders; wonder which of the regulars win this time

Pre-orders tend to arrive early (before official release date), grab the chance to have early access! You won't be the winner if you just learned about it now, since at least one guy on misc@ has already beaten you to it :-)

Well I have placed my order, too. Even though I am not the 1st place orderer, nevertheless I know Austin will be sending along some very cool stickers; yes, my stickers make my grand old t43 go to 11 :)

Great work keeping things rock solid, theo and all you devs! I am especially interested to see what develops in the armv7 over the next while. thanks for your diligence.

And I placed my order about 15 minutes after the commit message and only ended up as #3.

Mostly the messages happen in the middle of the night for us (almost) antipodiens but this one was at lunch time. Had I been at my desk I would likely not beat #1 but a good chance of #2.

It's nice to have fun whilst contributing so I hope we will see more when the word spreads.

Hey look, a story about pre-orders without an actual link to where I can pre-order.. Could I hereby apply a gentle cluebat to someone from undeadly to perhaps add a link in the story to https://https.openbsd.org/cgi-bin/order

In honor of using the Back To The Future as a theme, I propose that the version number be bumped up to version 8.8 (so we don't need to wait until November of 2030).
Well, Mattel will actually get around to releasing hoverboards by then. (Somehow, it looks like Mattel is going to miss the expected launch date of 1985 + 30 years.)
