Developer Bob Beck (beck@) sent the below explanation of what is needed for the ACPI-hackers to move along with their plans on implementing support for ACPI suspend and resume in OpenBSD.
Among a lot of other cool things that have been done at c2k9 in the last week, the dreaded table of ACPI hackers (jordan@, pirofti@, marco@, and mlarkin@) managed to make some great progress toward making our ACPI stack a lot more usable. This includes making acpidock(4) work so you can dock and undock and many device fixes.
Please read on for the full story.
However perhaps the most interesting event of the week was that the holy grail of ACPI suspend is starting to work. The guys have managed to get a Dell Mini-9 and an Acer Aspire One to suspend and come back, with most of the devices working, so keyboard, video and disk works. Many other devices as yet do not work. For us to make progress, we need to get more important laptops (such as the ones the developers already have) working at this level, so that the actual device writers can fix their devices to work with the ACPI resume hooks. What is currently needed in several places for ACPI developers are: 1) IBM X series laptops (such as X60, X61s, X200, X300) *with the docking station*. 2) Various netbook type laptops (even the really inexpensive ones)
So here's you chance - step in and help out, even if you don't have one of the mentioned laptops to give away perhaps you live close to a developer and can lend it for a period of time or perhaps you can arrange for someone else to donate their used laptop when getting a new one.

A cheap rugged fixable field type inexpensive laptop is the Gecko for 200 dollars. Ubuntu is supported. OpenBSD support would be great. Perhaps Norhtec or other supporters might be wise/kind enough to gift OpenBSD one. Xcore86 arch though, hum.
OpenBSD is listed for some of their products. Probably some OpenBSD developers have some Norhtec equipment.

I presume the "missing" commentary _is_ the commentary about ACPI.
