OpenSSH 3.9 released

Contributed by grey on from the bog down all the mirrors dept.

Thanks to Jose Nazario for the heads up on this story:

OpenSSH 3.9 and 3.9p1 were released yesterday. Release notes may be found here.

While there was previously some discussion of the new session multiplexing feature here you'll see there there are a number of other changes as well.

I suppose this will be one of the major reasons for upgrading to OpenBSD 3.6 come December. It *will* be in there, won't it?

It's also in the 3.5-stable branch now.

It's now also in the 3.4-stable branch. For anyone that tried to compile OpenSSH 3.9 on 3.4 (and possibly older releases) with the patch and had problems, retrieve the updated patch which fixes the compilation issue.

Yes, but you don't have to wait.

I'd probably say some of the following are equally valid reasons for updating:

      o hotplugd
      o SMP
      o openntpd

Check for more stuff yourself on:

    I think I'll wait for 3.9.1.
